Embark on an incredible 5-day safari across Tanzania's most iconic landscapes. From the baobab-studded plains of Tarangire to the wildlife-rich Serengeti and the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater, this epic journey promises unparalleled wildlife encounters, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable experiences.
The safari package starts at $2,195 per person, based on a minimum of two participants.
Begin your adventure with a pick-up from the airport or your hotel in Arusha and a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its iconic baobab trees and large herds of elephants. On your way to your lodge, you'll take in the park's diverse landscapes and resident species living their daily lives. Spot a majestic pride of lions lazing in the shadows of an exalted baobab while imposing buffalos nearby keep a watchful eye, knowing full well that when hunger takes over slumber, these big cats will awaken with a deadly focus and lethal force. Arrive at Burunge Camp around noon and be welcomed with a kindly cocktail. Take the time to settle yourself in and enjoy a revitalising lunch. You can also walk and admire the camp surroundings, take a quick dip in the refreshing pool, or go on an escorted walk to the neighbouring Lake Burungi and watch some of the fauna that inhabit and visit it. Next up, head off on your Tarangire game drive and strap yourself in for some incredible wildlife encounters. Marvel at herds of lofty elephants and other grazing animals, such as graceful zebras and springy gazelles, strolling the banks of the famous Tarangire River. With luck, you may even catch a glimpse of a stealthy leopard hidden in a nearby bush, ready to pounce on an unsuspecting grazer. As dusk approaches, head back to camp and opt for a mesmerising sundowner experience in the bush, a delectable feast in the rustic restaurant, and a night under the stars next to a romantic campfire. Enjoy these spellbinding moments with your favourite cocktail, your loved ones, or both. Regain your beautiful tented quarters when you're ready to call it a night and rest up before tomorrow's trip to your next epic destination.
After an energising breakfast, set off for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife destinations. The journey also serves as a thrilling game drive, so sit back, take in the stunning scenery, and try to spot the iconic Big Five along the way. You may even witness the incredible sights of Serengeti's famous tree-climbing lions! You've seen them laze under baobab trees; now watch them laze atop Acacia trees. Arrive at Osinon Camp right in time for lunch, where a delectable meal and your cosy, private tent in the bush await. Have a relaxing laze at the lounge tent while waiting for your afternoon expedition. Wild animals often pass by, so keep an eye out! In the afternoon, head back out and revel some more in the extraordinary wildlife of the Serengeti, such as packs of opportunistic hyenas roaming, looking for fresh carcasses to steal from other animals that did all the hard work for them, colourful birds singing melodies atop trees, cutesy meerkats sunbathing while others be vigilantly standing guard, and mischievous baboons taunting nearby predators and disrupting their hunt. As the sun sets, retreat back to camp and enjoy a deluxe dinner under the African starry skies before regaining your luxury canvas tent and having a good night's rest. The Serengeti has a lot more to show, so make sure to be fully energised for tomorrow's drives!
On this day, you'll have the option of going on a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch to enjoy in the bush or opt for two separate game drives with lunch and a little rest back at camp at noon. Whichever you choose, rest assured you'll be spending an exhilarating day exploring the Serengeti's vast plains and abundant wildlife. Furthermore, if you reserved your safari accordingly, witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration spectacle, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, buffalos, and more, traverse the savannah landscapes in search of greener pastures and fresh water sources. And let's not forget all the land, water, and air predators that stalk these huge herds the whole way, making sure not to miss out on this gigantic annual buffet. It's not for nothing that the Great Migration is considered a natural wonder of the world. You would not want to miss this mind-blowing seasonal event! As sunlight fades, return to camp for one last delicious dinner under the Serengeti stars, accompanied by a luscious drink by the campfire, recounting the incredible safari sights and sounds witnessed on this memorable day.
After breakfast, depart for the famed Ngorongoro Conservation Area and its breathtaking crater. The scenic trip also serves as a game drive, ensuring that every mile travelled is an opportunity for discovery and adventure. You'll be arriving at your Marera Valley Lodge camp by noon and have ample opportunity to settle in, enjoy a tasty lunch, have a little rest, and/or enjoy a couple of amenities before heading back out. How about a quick swim in the cold pool while the sun is at its highest? Or maybe, just a nice, relaxing walk around the premises, taking the stunning views and peaceful vibe. Then, it is time for your descent into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an afternoon game drive. The crater floor offers exceptional wildlife viewing, with chances to see the Big Five, including impressive black rhinos and majestic tusker elephants. Admire the flamingos along the crater's lake that light it up in bright hues of pink. And, make sure to have your cameras at the ready; there might be lionesses hidden in the tall grass, closing in on a lone unsuspecting zebra, or a cheetah mother about to rocket by to catch a gazelle to both feed her young and teach them how a hunt is successfully conducted. It can be all over in the blink of an eye, and that fantastic picture/video opportunity will be lost forever. As the night begins to take over, make your way back to camp for your last night in the Tanzanian wild. Savour one last dinner in the heart of the savannah before indulging in a well-earned spa and beauty treatment. After days of exhilarating game drives, long journeys between destinations, and hours immersed in the wild, take this moment to unwind, refresh, and let yourself be pampered back to complete serenity. End the night in perfect relaxation, sipping your favorite cocktail beneath the shimmering night sky. Whether by the warmth of the campfire or in the secluded comfort of your deluxe accommodation, let the tranquil atmosphere lull you into a deep and restful sleep.
Savour your final breakfast in the stunning Ngorongoro region before setting off for Arusha Airport. Arrive by early afternoon for your onward journey, reflecting on an incredible safari experience across Tanzania. We pray to see you again soon so that we can take you on yet another fantastic expedition throughout the majestic golden savannahs of East Africa.
